Colleen’s Approach to Helping
To take that initial step to say, “I/we need help” is a very brave and daunting task. As a clinician, Colleen feels honored to join you on this journey of healing. Counseling provides the insight necessary to work on the issues that are a barrier between you and living your best life. It is in doing the ‘work’ and using the ‘tools’ that individuals and families will see the ripple effect of change throughout life.
Colleen incorporates the techniques of sand tray and play therapy with other modalities to provide supportive interaction and to enhance communication for children, adolescents, teens, families, and individuals. Colleen also believes the use of humor and joy goes a long way in reconnecting to the ‘true’ self, and strengthening family bonds.
An area of strong interest for Colleen is Adoption and Attachment, and the issues and concerns that arise for all members of the Triad.
