Jennifer has a passion for working with children, therefore, she has been a counselor in elementary schools for the past four years. Additionally, Jennifer has experience working with young children, tweens, teens, and their families in an outpatient setting through providing individual therapy and small groups.
Jennifer is a kindhearted, compassionate, and patient therapist. Through meeting children in their own world, Jennifer fosters a non-judgmental, supportive, and empowering therapeutic environment. This, in turn, allows children and families to realize their own innate ability for positive growth and healing.
Jennifers Approach to Helping
Jennifer thoughtfully develops interventions to meet every individual’s unique needs by drawing from evidence-based approaches such as expressive therapies, play therapy, sand play therapy, mindfulness, and cognitive-behavioral therapy. Jennifer wholeheartedly follows the tenets of Garry Landreth’s play therapy approach in which all children are unique and worthy of respect, they are resilient, and children will take the therapeutic experience wherever is most needed.
