Morgan Hicks graduated with a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology in Boston, MA in 2012. During her graduate program, Morgan worked at a residential school for children with developmental disabilities, as well as, a short term crisis stabilization unit. Following licensure, she has gained additional experience working with children, adolescents, and their families at a community mental health agency completing Intensive In-Home therapy. She then migrated to outpatient counseling and has been developing her counseling approach while engaging in office-based therapy with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Morgan currently holds Licensed Professional Counselor licensure in both North Carolina and New Jersey.
Morgan’s Approach to Helping:
Morgan takes a person-centered approach to counseling, utilizing Cognitive Behavior Therapy among other therapeutic approaches, to facilitate change in her clients’ current functioning and life perspectives. With empathy and patience, she builds trusting relationships with her clients to aid in the change process. She has a strong interest in supporting individuals who identify within the LGBT population, as well as, those exploring gender identity and development.
