Athlete Wellness
We provide specialized mental health support for athletes through a sport social work lens, emphasizing athlete wellness from a whole-person perspective. Our approach recognizes that athletic performance is deeply connected to mental health, identity development, relationships, academic or career demands, and life stressors both within and beyond sport.
We are experienced in working with athletes of all ages and levels, offering therapy that addresses common concerns such as performance anxiety, confidence, motivation, emotional regulation, burnout, and stress management. We understand the unique pressures athletes face, including competition demands, expectations from coaches or teammates, and the internal drive to perform, and we tailor treatment to meet each athlete’s individual needs.
For youth athletes, we also provide parent consultation and support, helping caregivers better understand the emotional demands of sport, strengthen communication, and create a supportive environment that promotes healthy development, confidence, and balance. We also provide dedicated mental health support for injured athletes, helping them navigate the emotional impact of injury, including grief, frustration, identity disruption, and the challenges of recovery and rehabilitation. In addition, our clinicians guide athletes through key transitions such as returning to play after injury, changing teams or levels of competition, retirement from sport, or adjusting to new life roles beyond athletics.
Grounded in sport social work principles, our approach focuses on building resilience, self-awareness, healthy coping strategies, and balance, supporting athletes in achieving long-term well-being, sustainable performance, and personal growth both in sport and in life.
